Round table the 800th anniversary of the Ulus of Jochi
On September 26, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a round table with the organizers of the republican historical and ethnographic expedition “Talas–Ulytau–Sarayshyk” dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the Ulus of Jochi. The event was held with the support of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of Karaganda Region and the Karaganda Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. The round table was opened by A. Kystaubaeva, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Language Development of Atyrau Region. E. Nurmagambetov, Director of the Karaganda Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, emphasized the importance of the “Talas–Ulytau–Sarayshyk” tourist route aimed at promoting the national history and cultural heritage of the Golden Horde, and introduced the composition of the expedition.
During the event, reflections on the expedition were shared by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, and archaeologist M. Yeleuov; Associate Professor of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Candidate of Historical Sciences D. Taleev; and archaeologist from Istanbul, Choban Akayal Gulshakh. With wishes of success, Associate Professor of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Candidate of Historical Sciences Zh. Zhumabayeva, and Professor of the same university, Doctor of Historical Sciences Zh. Tanatarova, addressed the expedition. The event concluded with the presentation of a traveling exhibition dedicated to Bolgan-ana, the daughter of Khan Jochi.
