On September 9, a meeting of the working group on the preservation and development of intangible cultural heritage of the Atyrau Region was held at the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. The meeting took place as part of the official visit to the Atyrau Region by UNESCO expert, Candidate of Art History, Professor Meruert Kurmangalieva.

Еhe first stone laid in the foundation of the new museum building. On August 29, 2025, through the direct initiative and support of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev, the first stone and capsule were laid in the foundation of the new Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore and a 1,200-seat concert hall in the city of Atyrau.

On August 28, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore held an Open Doors Day dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the event was to foster patriotism and love for the Motherland among the younger generation, as well as to familiarize visitors with the country’s fundamental law and human rights. Visitors attended a lecture titled “The Constitution — the Foundation of Society” and participated in the quiz “How Well Do You Know the Constitution?”

On July 6, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted an educational cultural event and temporary exhibition titled “The Sound of the Dombyra — The Voice of the Nation” in celebration of the National Day of the Dombyra. The purpose of the event was to promote national values, highlight the spiritual, historical, and cultural significance of the dombyra — a sacred symbol for the Kazakh people — and foster respect for this unique emblem of national culture.

On July 3, 2025, a cultural event titled “Bolmysy bolek tau tulgа” (“A Man of Unique Nature”) was held in honor of the 60th anniversary of the birth of the first Kazakh bard, lyrical composer, member of the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and cultural figure — Tabyldy Dosymov. The event was organized to promote the poetic and musical legacy of the artist, his deeply meaningful works, and his rich creative journey.

On June 13, 2025, in honor of Father’s Day, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a meeting evening with family folk craftsmen titled “Art Passed Down Through Generations.” The purpose of the event was to convey to the younger generation the importance and value of national musical instruments — particularly the dombyra, to popularize its sound, and to promote national art.

On June 1, 2025, in celebration of International Children’s Day, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore held an Open Doors Day. On this special day, the museum created a joyful atmosphere and left its young visitors with unforgettable impressions. As part of the project “Tengiz Zhuregi” (Heart of Tengiz), organized by the public foundation “From Heart to Heart”

On May 16, 2025, on the eve of International Museum Day - May 18, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore held its traditional event “Museum Day”, which this year took place in a special format, offering guests inspiration and unforgettable impressions. The evening, dedicated to the priceless treasures preserved through the centuries, allowed visitors to immerse themselves in a living history atmosphere. Guests witnessed the theatrical performance

In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a meeting evening titled “Childhood Memories of the Great Patriotic War”, dedicated to honoring the memory of heroes, strengthening the connection between generations, and preserving historical memory. The event was opened by M. Kipiev

In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced at the IV National Kurultai, special attention is being given to scientific research, the restoration of historical monuments, the intensification of archaeological excavations, the development of museum work, the study of foreign archives, and the revival of national traditions.

On March 18, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted an intellectual contest among students entitled “National Traditions — Heritage of Generations”, in honor of the Day of Culture and National Traditions. The main goal of the event was to explain the educational significance of Kazakh customs and traditions, to revive and promote national values, and to foster a sense of national identity among young people.

On March 14, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a festive event titled “Korisu – The Beginning of the New Year,” dedicated to the ancient Kazakh tradition founded on mutual respect, unity, and harmony. The event was organized with the purpose of promoting the ancient custom of Korisu and reviving national traditions. Among the guests were Honored Journalist of Kazakhstan and local historian T. Zhanabay, local historian M. Utegaliev, representatives of the Korean ethnocultural association “Thonil”, as well as veterans and museum staff.

On March 5, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a meeting and master class with Saltanat Eleusinova, a local master of decorative and applied arts, member of the International Union of Artisans and the Eurasian Union of Designers, dedicated to the celebration of March 8 – International Women’s Day.

On February 22, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted the ceremonial handover of the “Ayaly Azhe” relay, organized in cooperation with the Regional Council of Veterans. The event was attended by the Hero of Labour of the Republic of Kazakhstan, renowned composer I. Zhakhanov, Chairman of the Mangystau Regional Council of Veterans S. Tuletov, Chairman of the Atyrau Regional Council of Veterans M. Uteshov and members of the council, as well as representatives of the “Khiuaz” Club, the Tatar-Bashkir ethnocultural association “Tatulyq”, and the “Inabat” Mothers’ Council under the spiritual-patriotic association “ELSANA.”

On December 12, 2024, in honor of the 65th anniversary of Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, essayist, Candidate of Philological Sciences Maksat Tazh-Murat Anesuly, and the publication of his book “Bіzdіn eldin ultany men sultany,” the event “Tugan zherge terenzhaiyp tamyryn” was held. The event opened with a congratulatory speech by Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region, Daryn Duyssembayevich Shamuratov. The symbolic ribbon of the book was cut by member of the Unions of Writers and Journalists of Kazakhstan, local historian A. Toleuishev, and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Qazcontent E. Kamenov.

In November, the head of the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore M. Kipiyev and the director of the KPI company “Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc.” D. Ashimov signed a bilateral memorandum. The meeting was attended by Deputy Akim of the Atyrau region Zh. Bissembiyev, Head of the Department of Culture and Languages Development of the Atyrau region A. Zholamanov, General Director of the KPI company D. Ashimov, Head of the Atyrau regional museum of history and local lore M. Kipiyev, as well as veterans of the oil industry and employees of the KPI company.

As part of the historical and cultural expedition "Babalarizimen..." a meeting was held with the descendants of Oteybatyr with the aim of reviving the name of the hero, who left a bright mark in our history and glorifying his bravery to the youth. On October 16, 2024, the evening of the meeting “Talented Pacer of Writing” took place. It was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, Honorary Journalist of Kazakhstan, excellent information worker, Honorary Citizen of the Kyzylkoga District, local historian Tolegen Zhanabayuly. On September 26, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a round table with the organizers of the republican historical and ethnographic expedition “Talas–Ulytau–Sarayshyk” dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the Ulus of Jochi. The event was held with the support of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of Karaganda Region and the Karaganda Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.

With the support of the Department of Culture and Languages Development of Atyrau Region, on June 27–28, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized the regional exhibition-fair “Ulttyk koloner – tarih kozi.” The exhibition was aimed at promoting national values among the younger generation and supporting artisans who preserve and continue traditional crafts. Masters of decorative and applied arts from different districts of Atyrau Region took part in the exposition.

On March 13, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted master classes titled “Master Classes of Folk Craftsmen” featuring local masters of traditional art.

On February 14, 2024, with the support of the Department of Culture and Languages Development of Atyrau Region, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore held a cultural event in cooperation with the spiritual and patriotic community “Elsana” and the “Inabat” Mothers’ Council of the “Ulttyq Mura” platform.
