Round Table with Members of the National Expedition “National Values. Kazakh Ethnography and the Writer-Ethnographer Zeynolla Sanik”



          In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced at the IV National Kurultai, special attention is being given to scientific research, the restoration of historical monuments, the intensification of archaeological excavations, the development of museum work, the study of foreign archives, and the revival of national traditions. On April 3, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a round table with members of the national expedition titled “National Values. Kazakh Ethnography and the Writer-Ethnographer Zeynolla Sanik.” The event was organized with the support of the Republican Public Association “Union of Writers of Kazakhstan.” It aimed to promote Kazakh ethnography, cultural and literary heritage, and to preserve and revive national values in line with the objectives set forth at the IV National Kurultai.

       The event was opened by A. Zholamanov, Head of the Department of Culture and Language Development of Atyrau Region, who emphasized the importance of developing Kazakh ethnography in accordance with the President’s directives. The national expedition was led by Kairat Begmanov, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan and Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, who spoke about the goals and objectives of the expedition. Expedition members — Dr. A. Toktabai, Doctor of Historical Sciences and ethnographer, and A. Kosanov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, member of the Public Chamber of the Mazhilis, public figure and journalist — elaborated on the scientific works of Zeynolla Sanik and the depth of Kazakh ethnography. The round table brought together regional intellectuals, historians, writers, cultural leaders, and representatives of the media, fostering a meaningful discussion on the preservation and promotion of Kazakhstan’s ethnographic and cultural heritage.
