A temporary exhibition from the museum collection “Balygy taidai tulagan olke”



             On June 8, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized a temporary exhibition from the museum’s collection entitled “Balygy taidai tulagan olke”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of the fish cannery. 

              The exhibition featured: a model of the sailing boat “Reyushka” — the first fishing vessel used on the Caspian Sea for fish harvesting; fishing gear; a photocopy of the article “Report on the Commissioning of the Guryev Fish Cannery,” published in Kazakhstanskaya Pravda on December 16, 1933, No. 21; a decree of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR on awarding the plant the name of V. I. Lenin (1983); a photocopy of the letter “Kazakh Soldiers from the Front to Deputy Chairman of the Guryev Regional Executive Committee Kh. Gabdolova,” published in the newspaper Socialist Construction on October 3, 1945, No. 360; photographs of the production process at the Guryev Fish Cannery and fishing scenes; tin cans of the plant’s fish products; a sturgeon model; fishing clothes and equipment. In addition, the exposition was supplemented with testimonies and documents of people who made a major contribution to the fishing industry: the certificate awarding the title “Hero of Socialist Labor” and order books of the renowned fish cutter A. Bayzhigitova; the certificate “Excellence in the Fishing Industry”; deputy IDs of Kh. Gabdolova, the first female deputy of Atyrau; as well as biographical materials and certificates of honorary titles “Honored Worker of Industry of the Kazakh SSR” and “Honorary Citizen of Kurmangazy District” of the plant’s director  K. Aliyev.
