Temporary Exhibition “Doctor — A Symbol of Hope and Trust”
On June 12, 2025, in honor of Medical Worker’s Day, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore opened a temporary exhibition titled “Doctor — A Symbol of Hope and Trust.” The purpose of the exhibition was to pay tribute to the noble individuals in white coats who have devoted their lives to saving others and to preserve the memory of their names in the minds of the younger generation.
A total of 194 museum exhibits were presented to visitors, illustrating the lives and professional achievements of over 30 doctors who made significant contributions to the development of healthcare in the region. Among them were renowned figures who dedicated their lives to serving the health of the people: Khalel Shigaev, Kazhygali Mamekov, the first professional surgeon Akhmet Sundetov, Honored Health Workers of the USSR Gulzhan Seitkalieva and Bakyt Sukhanberdiyev, founder of the Kazakhstani school of urology and professor Binesh Zharbosynov, as well as Honored Doctors of the Kazakh SSR — Magzom Gilaev, Bekbai Bimaganov, Abdrakhman Toksanbayev, Lidiya Dril, Khairolla Kalzhigitov, Marat Temirkhanov, Nelli Morozova, Vera Klimova, Valentina Chichkina, Khamit Nurzhanov, and Honored Health Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aliya Karasaeva, among others who left a lasting legacy in the region’s history. The exhibition’s opening ceremony was attended by teachers and students of the Atyrau Higher Medical College, as well as students of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University.
