Temporary Exhibition “THE ROLE OF RADIO”
On October 3, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a temporary exhibition titled “THE ROLE OF RADIO,” dedicated to Radio Day — October 1. The purpose of the exhibition was to trace the history of radio development from its invention to modern digital technologies — a field where science and technology intersect with art and culture.
Visitors had the opportunity to view vintage radio receivers and learn about the main stages in the evolution of radio broadcasting. The museum guide presented the history of each exhibit in an engaging and accessible way, sharing interesting facts and rare historical details. The honored guest of the exhibition was Gulnar Bagytkalievna Kulpeyisova, a veteran journalist, who shared her memories of her professional career and work in the field of radio. She also reflected on the importance of radio as a means of disseminating information and its enduring role in society. At the conclusion of the event, Gulnar Bagytkalievna ceremoniously donated a collection of valuable documents belonging to her mother, Malika Kulpeyisova, who had worked for many years in journalism, to the museum’s collection. The exhibition was also attended by students of the Atyrau College of Business and Law, who explored the history of radio. The opportunity to compare the past and present of broadcasting and to learn fascinating facts became an important and educational experience for the younger generation.
