Traveling exhibition “Atyrau throughout centuries”



          On October 25, 2025, by special invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan and with the support of the Atyrau Region Akimat, as part of the festive event dedicated to Republic Day, a traveling exhibition titled “Atyrau throughout centuries” was organized in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, from the collection of the Atyrau Regional Historical and Local Lore Museum. The purpose of the exhibition was to present the rich archaeological and ethnographic heritage of the Atyrau region and to promote the history and culture of the Kazakh people through valuable artifacts that have survived through the centuries.

       The exhibition featured a reconstruction of a Sarmatian leader and his weapons, artifacts from the city of Sarayshyk, national costumes, horse harnesses, collections of jewelry, wooden and leather items, as well as a series of paintings. A total of 86 valuable artifacts were displayed. The exhibition “Atyrau throughout centuries” was attended and highly praised by Deputy Minister of Culture Gurbanmyrat Shikhmyradov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Nurlan Askaruly, representatives of Turkmenistan’s cultural and diplomatic areas, foreign consuls, and distinguished guests, who commended the rich spiritual heritage of the Atyrau region. This event became a vivid example of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and promoting the rich spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people to the world.
