Meeting of the fund selection commission
In accordance with the annual work plan of the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, the regular meeting of the Fund Selection Commission for the third quarter was held on September 19, 2025. During the meeting, an expert review and selection of museum items were conducted, as a result of which artifacts of museum value were accepted into the collections of the regional museum as well as the Kurmangazy and Inder district branches.
The collection of the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore was replenished with exhibits including a 19th-century women’s kamzol (vest), a silk dress, a beshmet, a military uniform (tunic), a handbag, glass vases, a terme alasha (woven carpet), and photographs presented during a public event (book presentation). The collection of the Kurmangazy District Museum received photographs, documents, and letters of Alash movement figure, lawyer, and public leader Ualitkhan Tanashev; photographs, documents, copies of orders and medals, and personal belongings (a copper jug, milk jug, and sugar bowl) of public figure, educator, collector of oral folklore, ethnographer, and kuishi Mukhamedzhan (Makash) Sholtyruly Bekmukhambetov. Also transferred were photographs, documents, books, and clothing belonging to his great-grandson, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, and agrotechnologist Yerkin Lutfollauly Bekmukhambetov, as well as documents, medals, insignia, and a military uniform of Great Patriotic War veteran, teacher, and Candidate of Philological Sciences Naubet Kushekbayev. The Inder District Museum collection was enriched with a commemorative book and a stage chapan that belonged to the first Kazakh bard, poet, composer, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, and cultural figure Tabyldy Dosymov, along with photographs and documents of Kopbayev Iztileu Aldiuly, labor and war veteran of the Inder District — valuable additions to the museum’s exhibitions.
